- Drafting and Design, a
concentration from the Mechanical Engineering Technology Degree,
prepares graduates to draft and/or design machine parts, mechanisms,
and mechanical systems. Computer-aided- drafting (CAD) will be
emphasized as the primary method of producing drawings and
documentation.
- Coursework includes
manual and computer-aided drafting equipment, materials, statics,
manufacturing methods and processes, mathematics, physics, and
written and oral communications. Students should acquire skill such
as thinking and planning with the emphasis on drafting and design
skills.
- Graduates of this
curriculum will qualify to work in many fields of drafting. Drafting
and designs technicians are employed in manufacturing, research and
development, engineering and service firms, government agencies, and
related specialties.
